A friend of mine asked me a few months ago to get involved in a project with Metavivor, an organization that does amazing things for those with Metastatic Breast cancer. I didn’t let her finish her sentence, I just said “I’ll do it. And I know lots of other photographers that will too.” Well all these months later, I finally met Kay. The beautiful, feisty, and determined woman who I will be photographing. Within seconds of talking to her for the first time on the phone, I knew that I was meant to meet her. She is spunky, hilarious, and not afraid to poke fun at herself. I quickly learned her story, and instantly wanted to share it. While this is by no means a complete set, it is a start. I still have no idea what Metavivor wants for this project, but I want everyone to see Kay. Not the lady with “this cancer crap” as she refers to it, but Kay, the grandma, the mom, the avid lover of all things growing and so much more. My time with Kay and her family today was amazing. I am so looking forward to our next shoot.
